LIVING BREAD
(Feeding of the 5,000)

The people expected manna to rain from heaven

when the Messiah came, as it did in Moses' day.

Jesus fed over 5,000 people

with five loaves of bread and two fish. Then Jesus said,

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven (John 6:51)."
"I am the LORD your God...
I would feed you with the finest of wheat,
and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you
(Psalm 81:10,16)."
These passages point to the Christian sacrament of Communion.
